Homeowners Voices United

A Movement

What began as a group of concerned citizens looking to create a strong front against an oppressive system, evolved into a movement.

Homeownership has not proven to be such a dream for many people living in CIDs or Common Interest Developments in Texas and all over the country.

Homeowners Voices United is a group of homeowners fighting to preserve the American Dream of homeownership the local and state levels. The group currently consists of hundreds of homeowners living in Laredo, TX, but the group plans to expand to a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the purpose of educating potential buyers, businesses and officials on the problems with the current Texas Statutes so that homeowners in Texas can enjoy consumer protection, transparency, and the opportunity to participate in their own governance.

I am proud to be one of the founders and President of this amazing organization.

Community Focused

Homeowners Voices United members look out for each other. We believe that strong relationships with neighbors makes for a better community and way of life. When issues arise in the community, we join together and move towards resolution. Sometimes this may mean taking legal action. We believe in the relentless pursuit of justice and that people deserve a voice in their own governance. We believe Taxation without Representation is un-American and has no business in any part of governance and homeownership.

Legal Battles

Lawsuit

Some founding members are battling in civil court against the HOA, POA and board members in our community. The case is ongoing and you can read the press reports on it here:

Environmental and Health Concerns for Muller Elementary Students

Due to poor development policies with planning and zoning, students at Muller Elementary find themselves in the middle of some decisions that could negatively affect their learning experience while possibly putting their health at risk. HVU is involved in the process of trying to keep the undeveloped land around the school free from trailers and warehouses.

Standing Up for Our Neighbors

Many of our neighbors are suffering the worst effects of the injustices we face in our community. HVU is there to stand up against unfair and un-American abuses.
